Red Shield

So, 12.5 hours of collecting down, I have another 4 to go! I have a sore back!

My corps is quite lucky, we have the Tullamarine Airport that we focus on rather than the door knock, but we have it over 2 weeks, so many hours to cover.

So many stories too. One today made me laugh, a guy got off the plane from Adelaide and pulled out a couple of $100 bills, a couple of $50's and a $10 and a $5 and asked if I then had change for the $5 bill - I said no and so then he said he'd get some change..... he came back in a minute and gave me a grand total of..... $1!!!! I felt so special that he went to all that effort for $1. It made me laugh!

I've noticed at least 3 types of people that pass me (without being judgmental, please note!) - the people who don't give, the people who give you the loose change they don't need and the people who actually give generously.

The last point I want to point out for today is, that I have noticed that there are really only 2 people from my Corps that actually wear our full uniform during collecting - and surprise surprise - these two Soldiers raise a SIGNIFICANT amount more than everyone else!!! What does that tell you?

Many Salvationists just think wearing our uniforms is for Sundays to show each other, but it shows - even those Salvationists are slacking off even on Sundays, only wearing uniform if they have a standard just so they can sing in the Songsters or play in the band! We need to be getting out more, where the uniform in significant and very relevant

We just need to do something about the price of the uniform since it is so useful, recognisable, and identifiable....

The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously

Movers and shakers

Note the words of Acts 4:31: "And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembles together was shaken."

There are many churches where they never pray the kind of prayer that you read of here. A church that does not know how to pray and to shout will never be shaken. If you live in a place like that you might as well write over the threshold; "Ichabod" - "The glory has departed from Israel!" (1 Sam. 4:21)

It is only when men have learned the secret of prayer, power, and praise that God comes forth. Some people say, "Well I praise God inwardly," but if your heart is full of praise, you will have to let the praise come out.

"As in water face reflects face, so a man's heart reveals the man"

Dialogue

You say;

"Sometimes I'd like to ask God why He allows poverty famine and injustice when He could do something about it."

"What's stopping you?" asks a friend

You reply;
"I'm afraid God might ask me the same question"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

It's easy to blame God for all the problems in the world, isn't it. Take responsibility for your own actions, and why not work with God?

Remember: You + God is a majority!

"If I have denied justice to my menservants and maidservants when they had a grievance against me, what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account?"
Job 31:13-14

Albertine

ALBERTINE
(Brooke Fraiser)

I am sitting still
I think of Angelique
Her mothers voice over me
And the bullets in the wall where it fell silent
And on a thousandth hill, I think of Albertine
There in her eyes what I don't see with my own
Rwanda

[CHORUS]
Now that I have seen, I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead

Now that I have held you in my own arms, I cannot let go till you are

I am on a plane across a distant sea
But I carry you in me
and the dust on, the dust on, the dust on my feet
Rwanda

[CHORUS]

[BRIGDE]
I will tell the world, I will tell them where I've been
I will keep my word
I will tell them Albertine

[CHORUS]

I am on a stage, a thousand eyes on me
I will tell them, Albertine
I will tell them, Albertine

Are you encouraging human slavery?

Encouragement

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith.
Romans 1:11-12

A topic that's constantly circulating recently has been encouragement and encouraging fellow believers in Jesus.

There's nothing worse than brothers and sisters causing trouble among themselves, and it is a serious problem within 'churches' all through the ages. It's clearly what the enemy wants, and sometimes we give it to him or even assist him in his plan.

Today, let's lift each other up, even if it isn't someone that's in the church - encourage everyone you talk to today. Let's be people that build up and not bring down, the world is already broken enough - let's change the world starting right now.

In Jesus Name.

War!

It's always expected when things are going well, they will soon fall apart right in front of you!

Things were going great at Church, the Kingdom was at hand and people were effected by God's own hand.

Then tonight I was talking to someone, who I thought was getting somewhere with, moving them away from all the things in their life that is killing them, metaphorically and literally speaking, but then they did something very stupid this afternoon which has just made me feel so depressed and sick!

I've put out a warrant now on the demon causing this person to do all these things - yes it is a demon, subtle and sly for self preservation reasons - but I'm onto you, your time is now limited!! Your name will be revealed. I'm sick of you causing this perversion and destruction. Enough is enough!

Please, for all the prayer warriors reading this, pray now that God will show His omnipotence in this situation. God will get the glory, just pray sooner rather than before it strikes again!

"He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness."

Praise God! Revival?

I'm loving ministry at the moment more than ever!! God is moving, is there a revival coming to Australia....

The past few Sundays has been awesome, God's been moving and the mercy seat has required to have a 'take a number' system for the line.... OK not quite, but many people have been going to publicly meet with God!!

Today is Pentecost - the anniversary of the empowering of the Disciples with the Holy Spirit.

Our service started with worship today - usually as I lead, I feel much tension in the spiritual realm, but today the Spirit took off and had a great time of worship, many visitors were there just for Mothers day also, which was great!!

From then on, God kept speaking into people's lives. God even forced me to go to the mercy seat today just to soak up more of His presence!! It was awesome!!

Last week, I prayed for a good mate at the mercy seat, and I've never seen anyone get up afterwards like him before with a huge yell of "Praise Jesus" that was also awesome!! He had broken through and had become an over comer of many things in his life, thanks to Jesus!!

Today during morning tea, one of the younger guys who's been attending for around a month now wanted me to teach him how to pray and almost gave his heart to God, but couldn't do it boldly enough, something kept stopping him, so I wrote out the salvation prayer for him to pray sometime today in his own time - I'll be following up to see how he went....

Was talking to a young girl who thinks she is bi.... please pray for her to be free of the lies of this world!

God's presence is so strong at the moment - a revival is happening in Lakeland, Florida, He was with us today, and a few other good reports - it's a good thing He's omnipresent - everywhere!!

God - we just want to give You the Glory today that You deserve. Show us Yourself, how big a God You really are! In Jesus Name I ask You to break down all the lies of the enemy also.

'But he said, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent."'

Brass music

Did anyone say brass was dead?

(Not sure if there's a spiritual message in there somewhere....??)

"When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies."
Numbers 10:9

"When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city."
Joshua 6:20

Fly to Jesus

I thought I'd post one of my video productions that I put together for a Church meeting a few weeks back.

Make sure you listen to the words, they might come in handy.

Enjoy!

Thanks to Tish Rowe for the help recording also

Helped by an Angel

Where I work, in the lab where we work on Q-fever under high containment, we have a huge autoclave which is big enough to walk in.

If you know me, I'm 6 foot 4 and have to crouch to walk in this autoclave. The outside of the autoclave as we see it is a large round metal door with a large handle, sort of like the old steering wheels on boats (like a pirates steering wheel), but metal and very heavy.

When we have to open this autoclave, we usually need 2 of our strong guys to go in to open it. On Friday, I got sent into this high containment lab, where we have to wear a full facility suit - none of our own clothes, and have to shower out. This time, I was sent in by myself to open this autoclave, so naturally, I wondered how I was going to do this!!

As I was entering I said a bit of a prayer that went a bit like this; "God can You somehow loosen the autoclave door so I can open it by myself". Immediately I had a vision of inside the facility, a huge angel loosening the autoclave for me!

When I got inside, I walked up to it, pushed down one side of this metal steering wheel with ONE hand... and it opened!! Usually, as I said, takes two big guys to open, but did an Angel help me, as I saw?!

I know God sends His Angels to help His people, we hear about it often in the Bible. I just thank God that He hears our prayers, no matter how big or small they are, He hears us, and shows us He cares!

Thank You God for hearing us and caring enough for us to send Your help in times of need!!

Mourning

Those you know of Smith Wigglesworth, you would know he was a powerful man in God's authority, especially over sickness and death.

I get a daily blessing from reading his work in my devotional time.

The other day I read a portion based on Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted"

Smith went on to say we have the wrong idea on mourning. He tells the story;

"My wife once said to me, 'Watch me when I'm preaching. I get so near to Heaven when I'm preaching that someday I'll be off.' One night she was preaching, and when she had finished, off she went.

As I was leaving the house, the doctor and policeman met me at the door and told me that she [his wife] had fallen dead at the church door. I knew she had gotten what she wanted. I could not weep, but I was in tongues, praising the Lord.

I went up to her lifeless corpse and commanded death to give her up, and she came back to me for a moment. Then God said to me, 'She is Mine, Her work is done here'. I knew what He meant.

When you believe God, you will say 'Whatever it is, it is all right. If You want to take the one I love, it is all right, Lord."

What a huge statement, are you in a place with God where you are able to say that? I'd like to think I am... God is good, we know He is in control and knows what He is doing.

My Dad's cousin died last week, he was only 46 and was unsaved. I would have loved to have the boldness of Smith Wigglesworth to command death to give him up, but the family didn't allow us to even approach him and didn't even want a religious ceremony - but I could have prayed for him from a distance, but failed!

If you are saved, you are at peace in your spirit, I thank God He sent His son, so I can have life!

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8
