Good - he was a smart guy - he was God actually!!
In Matthew 10 Jesus sends out His 12 disciples and gave them authority to "heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons" v8a. Do we believe that Jesus had the power to give out this authority??
I hope your answer is yes - he has told us before He went back to Heaven that we could do all these things and more - do we believe it??? Then why are we not seeing it then?
I'm hearing bits from here and there that some of this is happening, but I have the feeling we're not giving God all of us to control nor the glory. Are you holding any of yourself or your life from God?
Here in Melbourne Central Division, there are some of us driving out demons and healing the sick and others saving souls - I want to see this in flood loads!! I'm still praying to see God's power in bringing someone back from the dead! I have been prophesied over that my hands are released into healing, but I'm too afraid to use it in case it God doesn't turn up and I'm left standing there looking stupid - STOP there!!
It's not about us!! Give God the glory through all we do and say - leave it up to Him, be willing and let God do the rest. Fear is from im-perfect love. Do you know God well enough to trust Him fully? Jesus is enough (hey Marney!)
Step out in faith this week and believe God will be there!!
"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

Do you really believe people can bring someone back from the dead? Is that what Jesus meant? Don't forget, Jesus hadn't overcome death at that point. If my Christian brother dies, can I snatch him back from the presence of the Lord? Only if you believe in intermediate states. When people are saved, they are resurrected, with both the promise of and the full expectation at their death.
I know of many people that have been raised from the dead in Jesus name in modern day!
It's not to take them out of the prescence of God if that's where they are (if they are there that's the last thing you'd want to happen!!)
It's when God shows he has power over the grave still today - He want's people still to know that!
A majority of people don't believe the power of the Bible in today's world in places where it says that Jesus rose the dead and empowered the disciples to do the same - so when it happens today in Jesus Name it validates that Jesus is still ALIVE today!!
If you doubt that Jesus can still do this if it is His will, pray for Him to strengthen your sheild of faith.
I just got home from brisbane Planetshakers, im not sure if you are familiar with it, but it is a ginourmous youth christian youth conference. Last night i had the pleasure of listening to the evangalist Reinhard Bonke...amazing man of god. During his service, the power of the holy spirit came upon me, and i felt an electricity pass through me, and God told me to go up to a young crippeled boy there, and the holy sprit will heal him through me..the devil came into my mind and said i cannot do this, so i didnt -- i just couldnt handle nothing happening. Today he preached again talking about how in a conference he felt the same thing i did when god told him to heal 4 blind people...and the devil told him the same thing. But he followed through with it anyway and they were healed. he said " The Devil told me this, what if nothing happened. But i told myself, ITS NOT THE POINT IF NOTHING HAPPENED..IM OBEYING THE WORD OF GOD" you see it dosent matter what society says about all this, ot people..IF GOD SAYS THIS CAN HAPPEN, IT WILL HAPPEN..you cannot disregaurd what god says..it is as simple as that. Jesus says that "The dead will rise in my name" and that is the truth, if crippeled can walk, the deaf can walk..THEN IN JESUS NAME THE DEAD WILL RISE!!!!!
