Overcomers

The other night I was at a practice for an upcoming event and there was a whole heap of spiritual warfare around the place. God showed me what was going on and so I started praying against it.

It was fairly strong stuff, but I know God is bigger and His power is limitless so I prayed through it with God on my side and had a few others praying outside on the land and we broke through and claimed the land back for God.

I got a bit sick the next couple of days due to it but God still has the victory and if you are in Melbourne this weekend you might want to come to Go for Souls conference at Plenty Valley Salvation Army from Friday night till Saturday night cos God is going to turn up and bless the conference. We need passion to save the lost, to come along to learn how to reach out and go for souls!!

Check it out @ http://goforsouls.blogspot.com/

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Luke 10:19

There are some interesting points that are worth keeping in mind when considering evil and spiritual warfare that goes beyond glib! Those who claim be part of a spirtual warfare tend all too often fail to understand where Christianity ends and paganism begins. They do not seem to know where the boundaries are.
In their theology they fail to see that there is no explicit biblical teaching relating to the demonisation of Christians, by implication the Scripture makes it quite clear that this is an impossibility.
In their enthusiansm there is the ever present danger of exaggeration to the point that biblical teaching on divine sovereignty is compromised.
All too ften Man has become the fulcrum of redemption, holding the balance of power between God and the devil in the battle for the souls of men.
The gospel is rendered impotent without the preliminary work of pulling down demonic strongholds.
Many pay lip service to the concept if God's sovereignty but in real terms view His ability to intervene as being limited to the extent of man's willingness to cooperate in the process of salvation. GG

Thanks GG,

Do you dissagree with the part that God is bigger and His power is limitless part?

Come along on the weekend and have a talk with me and you'll realise that I understand too well about things like where paganism ends and Christianity begins.

Thanks for your insight, but realise I don't take God's soverignty lightly or undermine God's power and authority in anyway - in fact, I depend on it daily. You really seem to be reading way too deeply into my writing and distorting much of it.

Actually GG, not sure if this is the right place, but i'm sensing a bit of hurt and sarcasm from you towards the Army presently - you are from within the Army though, am I right?

Have you tried throwing salt over your left shoulder (or is it your right shoulder?).

Remember to always have some garlic and a wooden cross handy.

You might want to carry your lucky horse shoe with you next time.

Hi Mate, you always seem to get some interesting comments. I was praying for you guys last weekend I hope it was a great time.
People can argue about spiritual warfare all they like, but once you have experienced it you realise it is not some made up balony, but a very real thing and only God has the power to defeat it.
Look forward to catching up at Commissioning. Darren
