The most dangerous person alive?

If you were the most watched and therefore the most influential person on TV, would you stand up for what you believed to be true, or would you be blown around in the wind (James 1:6-8) to please people to make money (1 Timothy 6:10) - if worst comes to worst please don't deny Jesus!!

Watch some of these video's -

or these also

and this one explains the situation well in some detail from a Biblical view;

I think this is one great example of a false prophet the Bible warns us about - after all, Oprah claims she is a 'Christian' yet denies Jesus as the only way, teaches all the new age methods and has started up her own church.

Let's either pray for her, or pray her false teachings will now fail and people's eye's will be opened to the truth of Jesus.

"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."
Matthew 7:15

I'd tread carefully with the judgement there, Simon... ;)

Only God knows her heart, and personally I'm more interested in my own heart, then trying to point out flaws in others.

Judging on what she is saying and doing - I think it's totally accurate. I think we tread way too lightly on important issues these days - stand up for what you know to be true.

Yes, we need to start with ourselves, making sure we are right with God, but then we need to keep an eye out for our 'brothers' - if she keeps going, she's going to lead her own army to hell based on what I know to be true - how bout you?

I guess I see this approach as quite alienating of those we're trying to show Jesus to.

I don't see witnessing/sharing the Truth to involve pointing fingers at everyone else, and how wrong their beliefs/behaviours are.

I believe God actually speaks out quite vocally in his Word about that.

Just something to leave you with as a challenge... :D

If a truck was heading directly towards someone - I'd get them out the way.

If I knew someone was heading towards eternal punishment - I'd do something to let them know how to recieve life.

I agree with your statements there - but I don't see how we do that by pointing out faults, flaws or accuse people of being false prophets.

ABSOLUTELY pray for people's souls, mirror Jesus Christ to them, and show them the way to God through our own behaviour.

But nowhere do I see God telling us to point fingers, accuse or point out all the 'wrongs'.

Cheers!

Hey Sach - is that what it looks like - I'm not meaning to point fingers etc, but when there is something that goes against the teachings of my God and leads people in the wrong direction I have to let them know.

Romans 16:17
"I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them."

I do know that God asks us if we see our brother going the wrong way to correct him in his ways;

2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,"

&

2 Timothy 4:2
"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction."

Is there anything here I have done badly according to Pauls teaching on the matter?

& Romans 14:13
"Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way."

I don't see myself as judging but stopping the stumbling blocks infront of people with Oprah's 'teachings'

Any arguments here? Do I come across as too harsh? I just want the truth to be proclaimed and stop people from walking into & believeing a lie if they can't see it for themselves.

But do you really think it's Godly to point fingers at an individual in order to 'save' people?

I really don't see that as what God asks of us. It's not our place to point out what's 'wrong' with everyone else - but rather to SHOW the right of our Faith.

And sometimes - use words! :D

We don't need to pinpoint the 'wrong' in other things, in order to do that... :)

In regards to Oprah herself - I don't really like her. Bit too OTT in the love for my taste... LOL

However, it rubs me up the wrong way to see people labelled instead of prayed and interceded for.
